NIHB is seeking an Outreach and Education Policy Coordinator (OEPC) to support the work of NIHB to provide education on Medicare, Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program, the Marketplace, SSA disability and Veteran Administration health benefits and programs. The position will assist in the creation and execution of educational sessions for Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal, and Urban Indian Health Organization (I/T/U) staff when it comes to these health benefits. The incumbent will provide training and technical assistance on health care reform knowledge at the Tribal community, regional, and national levels and act as a liaison between the NIHB, key stakeholders and all constituents involved with and effected by the program. The OEPC will report to the Outreach and Education Program Manager (OEPM) and the Director of Government Relations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Tribal communities or the IHS and the implementation of 3rd party billing and use of these benefits.
The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) seeks an experienced environmental professional to work on environmental projects related to recycling, composting, solid waste reduction, and the circular economy. The position focuses on assisting Tribes in navigating federal grant application systems, writing grant proposals, and effectively managing grant funding. There are a number of grant opportunities offered by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of Energy, and other federal agencies, relating to circular economy topics, including reducing municipal solid waste (household trash), reusing materials, recycling, and composting. Additional topics being addressed are hazardous waste management, landfilling, and post-consumer materials management. The position is full-time, salaried, and may include travel up to 20% of the time. Position based in Washington, DC is preferred but not required.
